HOW TO:

1.

Prepare the filter paper. If a ‘V’ shaped filter fold the edges on the filter paper back over the filter so the paper sits nicely in the basket.

2.

Rinse the filter paper and brew basket with hot water to remove the taste of the paper, to clean and warm the basket and carafe. Discard the water.

3.
Grind the required amount of coffee and add into the filter paper inside the brew basket. Gently shake side to side with a gentle tap to expel any pockets of air and to level the bed of coffee. Ensure the filter paper is sitting up level and hasn’t collapsed.

4.
Add the desired amount of cold or room-temperature drinking water to the reservoir.

5.

Insert the brew basket into the brewer, make sure the carafe is in place and turn the brewer on.

6.

The brewer is now passing hot water through the ground coffee and extracting into the carafe as filter coffee.

7.
Towards the end of the brew, gently lift and shake side to side the brew basket and re-seat the filter basket in its holder. This will help settle the bed of grounds to ensure an even extraction.

8.
Once the coffee has stopped dripping discard the used coffee grinds. Give the carafe a gentle swirl to mix, then share and enjoy!

TOP TIPS:

Rinsing the filter paper reduces the likelihood of a paper taste in the brewed coffee. Ensure the brew basket and carafe is clean before use.

‘V’ shaped filters use a medium-coarse grind. ‘Flat-bottom’ filters use a coarse grind.

If the coffee extraction takes too long (refer indicative brew times), overflows the filter in the brew basket or you experience bitterness in the cup you will want to try grinding the coffee a bit coarser.

When it comes to coffee - fresh is best. Purchase fresh coffee beans from your local cafe or roastery, grinding as required using a hand or electric grinder.

CARE:

Regularly flush the brewer by running water only through the brew cycle.
Periodically clean with Cafetto Brew Clean.
Whenever the carafe becomes tarnished fill with hot water and Cafetto Brew Clean to remove the built up coffee residue.
Rinse clean the brew basket and carafe after use.
Keep the brewer dry.
